Lark Hill Road. This is no 12 where John, Mary, Thomas and Walter lived in 1891. No 1 is now a car park. King Street (now Manchester Road), Carr Street, Albyn Street East, Albyn Bank Road, Grosvenor Street, Lark Hill Street, London Road, St Augustines Church and two or three mills were all within a couple of minutes walk. To take the photo I stood outside the Cardinal Newman College, which was formerly Lark Hill College, and formerly Lark Hill Convent, and formerly the residence of Samuel Horrocks the cotton tycoon.
